Covid Memorial Project

For over a year, the Covid-19 pandemic and its many implications have been ever-present in our minds. As a community we want to acknowledge the lives that have been lost during this time due to the virus. Similar to the stones ritual during Sunday worship, to represent what is on our minds we will place individual stones into glass jars and think about each life Covid took from our congregation, our state, and our country. When the jars are filled with 2,000 stones, we will place them in the Peace Meadow.

Our Covid Memorial Project is both a process and a visual reminder. As different members of our congregation fill the jars with stones and then carry the jars to the Peace Meadow, they engage in contemplative meditation. For those who visit the Peace Meadow, they will see this Covid Memorial and remember those who are no longer with us.
