November to Remember: Don’t Miss These Events

November is jam packed with a great lineup of events for our church community. Besides our regular monthly meetings and Middle Hour offerings, these special events are planned:

Saturday, Nov. 8 – Male Bonding Retreat – 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. – Join us for another male bonding retreat under the covered pavilion at the Hilltop Arboretum. Fellowship will be centered around fishing, board games, meditation and more. Drinks, chips, snacks and salads will be provided at no charge. Please bring a sandwich or other lunch item to supplement. All members and friends of UCBR who identity as male are welcome. RSVP to Jeff at jeff.gauger@gmail.com

Sunday, Nov. 16 – Art Show & Community Advocacy Event – 4-5 p.m. – Through a powerful collection of her art, Jennifer Carwile takes us on a tour of the EBRouge jail. Hear firsthand about the conditions she witnessed and why we need to advocate for new, more humane facilities.

Friday, Nov. 21 – White Light Night – 6-10 p.m. – Come find us outside the Groworking Space at 2964 Government St. as you enjoy White Light Night. We’ll have s’mores to roast over our toasty fire.

Saturday, Nov. 22 – Jewelry Estate Sale – 8 a.m.-4 p.m. – Mark your calendars and gather your no longer needed jewelry to donate (including findings, loose beads, broken silver/gold). Then show up early to find the best selection!

Thursday, Nov. 27 – CommUUnal Potluck Thanksgiving Lunch – 12 p.m. – Bring your favorite dish and gather in the Fellowship Hall for potluck lunch with friends. Sign up for a dish and RSVP by stopping by the Sunday table or emailing office@unitarianbr.org

Sunday, Nov. 30 – Potluck + Tree-Trimming Party – 12:30-3 p.m. – Folks of all ages are invited to make new friends, connect with old friends, build community together! Bring food to share and then enjoy ornament making and tree decorating! Crafts, holiday soundtrack. Make some memories while we make our sanctuary beautiful for the holidays.
