Music and Choir
Music is a vital part of our worship services. It can speak to the soul deeply and powerfully, creating a time of beauty and reflection or fun and laughter. Our congregation loves music and singing, and the music in our services reflects the diversity of our congregation.
The musical component of our services varies widely in musical styles and traditions, including classical, jazz, blues, musical theater, blues, gospel, and folk, to name a few. We accomplish this with the regular participation of members and friends of the congregation, and professional musicians.
Our music program helps to support the ministry of the church by providing music that complements the services, creating a unified worship experience. Music provides opportunities for members of our congregation to share their talents. We hope that the congregation will extend their full participation, whether sitting back and enjoying the music, singing, clapping along, or even dancing if the occasion requires!

Choirs at UCBR
Joining the choir can be a fun and meaningful way to get involved in the life of a congregation.
Dr. Trey Davis directs the adult choir. They generally sing the anthem two Sundays each month. Our choir accepts new singers at any time. No experience is necessary! We practice Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm in the spring and fall. If you’re interested, please contact Trey Davis or Lee Hartman, the music director.
The gospel choir spends the summer practicing and provides music for a special Sunday every August.
Blues Band
Our blues band is made up of church members and friends, and plays every spring in our BlUUes service to celebrate Black History month. If you’re interested in participating in the band, or in any musical group, please contact our music director.
Hymn Leaders
Our congregational singing is led by our all-volunteer Hymn Leaders’ Guild. If you have this skill and would like to participate, please contact our music director.
