At the Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge, generosity is more than something we practice — it’s something we plan for, nurture and carry with us all year long.
Each Sunday, we pass the offering plate as part of worship. And each month, we share those gifts beyond our walls, splitting the offering with a community partner whose work reflects our commitment to justice.
This shared offering model is one of the most tangible ways we live our faith. It connects our Sunday mornings to real-world impact, turning small, collective acts of giving into meaningful support for organizations doing the hard, hopeful work of building a more just Louisiana.
As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to announce the 12 organizations our congregation will partner with in the coming year.
Our 2026 Shared Offering recipients are:
- January – Dialogue on Race Louisiana
- February – Black Lives of Unitarian Universalists (BLUU)
- March – LORI – Louisiana Organization for Refugees and Immigrants
- April – LEAN – The Louisiana Environmental Action Network
- May – Louisiana Abortion Fund
- June – Louisiana Trans Advocates
- July – The Gardere Initiative
- August – Humanities Amped
- September – Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge/The Holy Grill
- October – Trans Income Project
- November – VOTE – Voices of the Experienced
- December – Diversity House / Youth Oasis
These partners are educators, advocates, neighbors and bridge-builders. They organize communities, provide direct services, amplify unheard voices and work tirelessly to make our region more equitable and compassionate. By sharing our offerings with them, we join that work. When we give together, our impact grows. A single dollar becomes a statement of values. A shared plate becomes shared responsibility. And our congregation becomes part of something larger than itself.
Thank you for continuing to show up … with your time, your care and your generosity. We look forward to walking alongside these partners throughout 2026 and witnessing the difference we can make, together. Because building beloved community doesn’t happen in one place. It happens everywhere we choose to show up.
