Our Social Justice Team has several subteams that focus on specific topics, one of which is climate and environmental justice. The climate subteam meets from 10:15-11:15 a.m. during Middle Hour on the first Sunday of each month. 

This fall, the team will welcome highlighted speakers to their meetings on an assortment of climate-related topics. They include:

Sept. 7 – Wetland scientist Dr. Gene Turner will discuss dredging the Louisiana coast: land loss, science and priorities.

Oct. 5 – Anthropologist Dr. Kelli Gilbert will discuss the relationship between climate and religion.  

Nov. 2 – Sylvia Martinez will give an update and provide additional information about green burials.
