There’s something special about worship that invites us to sing from the heart.

On Sunday, Aug. 2, the Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge will celebrate its annual Gospel Service, a morning filled with the energy, inspiration and spirit of gospel music. Whether gospel music is a longtime favorite or something you’re experiencing for the first time, this special service offers an opportunity to connect.

Our annual summer gospel choir, led by church member Jared Robinson, has been rehearsing throughout the summer and is excited to share a collection of both beloved gospel classics and contemporary favorites. The choir includes members and friends of the congregation, many of whom joined simply because they love to sing together.

Everyone is invited to experience this uplifting service at 9 or 11:30 a.m. Whether you’re a longtime member, a first-time visitor or somewhere in between, we hope you’ll join us for a Sunday that celebrates the power of music to inspire, unite and lift our spirits.
