November is shaping up to be a busy month at the Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge! Along with our regular activities, we have a variety of special events planned, from celebrations and community gatherings to opportunities to give back. We’ll also be out and about at two Baton Rouge events, so come find us!
Here’s what’s happening this month.
Saturday, Nov. 7 — Capital Drive Launch Party | 6-8 p.m.: Join us in the Fellowship Hall for The Fountain of Possibilities: A Party with a Mission and Goal as we officially kick off UCBR’s Capital Drive and dream together about the future we can create. Enjoy food catered by Chef Charles Wilford, a dessert bar by Precious Murphy and live music from a trio. Magical, fantasy, whimsical or enchanted attire is encouraged but not required. Childcare will be provided, with children enjoying their own special party and age-appropriate activities.
Saturday, Nov. 7 — Samhain Ritual | 7 p.m.: The Sixth Source Sharing Circle invites everyone to gather in the choir room for a community ritual celebrating Samhain and acknowledging the final harvest of 2026 through reflection and intention. Participants are welcome to bring photos or mementos for the ancestor table and a dish to share for a potluck feast, if willing and able.
Sunday, Nov. 15 — Winter Blood Drive | 8 a.m.-2 p.m.: Give the priceless gift of life! The blood bank’s mobile donation bus will be in the church parking lot for our winter blood drive. Stop by and help make a difference.
Friday, Nov. 20 — White Light Night | 6-10 p.m.: Hading to Mid City’s White Light Night? Come visit UCBR’s Outreach Team at the Groworking Space, 2964 Government St. We’ll have freebies, treats and s’mores! Stop by, say hello and enjoy this festive community event.
Saturday, Nov. 21 — Art and Jewelry Sale | 8 a.m.-3 p.m.: Looking for a unique gift or a little something for yourself? Our annual Art and Jewelry Sale will feature hundreds of items at all price points, including vintage, costume and handcrafted jewelry, along with art and more. Come early for the best selection!
Saturday, Nov. 28 — Louisiana Queer Arts Festival | 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Join us at the Main Library on Goodwood for this free, family-friendly festival celebrating Louisiana’s queer arts community. Enjoy artists, vendors, food, music and more, and be sure to stop by UCBR’s table for freebies, information and face painting!
Whether you’re joining us at church or connecting with us out in the community, there are plenty of ways to get involved this November. We hope to see you!
