September’s Middle Hour offers adults two ways to learn something new each Sunday — from organizations doing important work in our community to a deeper exploration of Unitarian Universalism.
Middle Hour begins at 10:15 a.m. between our 9 and 11:30 a.m. services. All are welcome.
Faith in Action — Social Justice Team — Room 1
Each Sunday, the Social Justice Team will welcome guests who will share more about their work in the Baton Rouge community.
- Sept. 13 — Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank: Liz Pfifer, CEO of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, will share information about the organization’s work in our community.
- Sept. 20 — Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America: Members of the local Moms Demand Action group will discuss their work to address gun violence.
- Sept. 27 — Glass Half Full: Members of UCBR’s Glass Recycling Team will talk about the work of the Glass Half Full glass recycling program.
Faith in Exploration — Room 6
Curious about Unitarian Universalism? Introduction to Our Faith is designed especially for newcomers but is open to everyone. The three-session series explores our UU history, theology and the many ways we understand and experience faith.
- Sept. 13 — Where Did We Come From?
- Sept. 20 — Building a Theological House
- Sept. 27 — The Cathedral of the World
The exploration will continue in October with Introduction to Our Church, focusing specifically on UCBR, our congregation and our community.
