Special Events Throughout May

May brings a full calendar of opportunities to gather, give back and celebrate together. From long-standing traditions to community outreach and family-friendly fun, there’s something for everyone. Mark your calendar and join us when you can.

May 2–3, 10 a.m.–1 p.m., PLANT SALE: Our annual plant sale returns with a wide variety of plants for your home and garden, along with hand-painted peace poles. Invite your friends and stop by to pick up something green.

May 3, 9 and 11:30 a.m., FLOWER CEREMONY: Celebrate our annual event during both services. Bring a cut flower to share if you’d like, though it’s not required, as there will be plenty. This beloved Unitarian Universalist ritual, first created by Rev. Norbert Čapek more than 100 years ago, celebrates the beauty of individuality and the strength of community.

May 8, 6–10 p.m., HOT ART, COOL NIGHTS: Are you heading to this event to hit up your favorite food truck or find that perfect piece of art among all of the vendors? Find us at the Groworking Space (2964 Government St.). Our booth offers a family-friendly place to rest, with games, face painting and a bubble station for kids.

May 17, 8 a.m.–2 p.m., BLOOD DRIVE: Our summer blood drive takes place in the church parking lot. Stop by the blood bank bus and give the priceless gift of life.

May 17, 12:30–2 p.m., POTLUCK LUNCH: Join us for a community celebration to close out the church year. Bring a potluck dish to share and enjoy time together as we build and strengthen our connections.

We hope you’ll take part in these special moments throughout the month. Whether you come for one event or many, your presence helps make our community vibrant and welcoming.
