December at the Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge will be packed with special services that are not to be missed.
They include:
- Sunday, Dec. 10 at 9 and 11:30 a.m. – Second Sunday in Advent, “When Peace Is Hard to Find,” Rev. Chris Long
- Sunday, Dec. 17 at 9 and 11:30 a.m. – Annual Christmas Pageant
- Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. – Winter Solstice
- Sunday, Dec. 24 at 9 and 11:30 a.m. – Christmas Eve morning services with carols
- Sunday, Dec. 24 at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. – Christmas Eve evening services with special musical performances, a traditional reading by our youth of the story of Jesus’ birth, and a shared candle lighting to close the night
- Sunday, Dec. 31 at 9 and 11:30 a.m. – Kwanzaa Service
Other special events include a performance by the New Orleans Gay Men’s Chorus on Dec. 9, the Worldwide Candle Lighting Potluck on Dec. 10, the BUDS Family Playgroup on Dec. 16, the Family Outdoor Fun Day on Dec. 23, and all of the other regularly rotating events and meetings for children, youth and adults.
