The Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge will celebrate its 40th anniversary Sept. 11-18 with a week of events honoring four decades of interfaith partnership, service and work for peace and justice in our community.

As a member congregation of the Interfaith Federation, the Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge will participate in several events during the anniversary celebration.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, from 2-4 p.m., UCBR will be one of the participating sites for the Movable Pray-for-Peace Vigil. Community members are invited to visit one or all of the participating congregations, staying for a few minutes or the full two hours to pray for peace. Information about the other participating sites will be available at UCBR.

The celebration continues with the Holy Grill Celebration Luncheon at noon Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the BREC park at 6117 Cadillac St. Partners, volunteers and founders are invited to gather in celebration of the Interfaith Federation’s 40 years of service.

On Thursday, Sept. 17, the Interfaith Federation will hold its Annual Community Prayer Breakfast from 7-9 a.m., with doors opening at 6:30 a.m., at Boudreaux’s, 2647 Government St. The breakfast will recognize the Federation’s charter member organizations. Tickets are $30 and are available through Sept. 7.
