Saturday, April 19 – Churchwide Workday – 9 a.m.-1 p.m. – There will be music, food and work/projects available for people of all ages, abilities and stamina. Bring work supplies (gloves, buckets, vacuum cleaners, stools, tools, ladders) and label your belongings to share.
Sunday, April 20 – Easter Services, Party and Brunch – 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Our Easter services will be held at 9 and 11:30 a.m. Join us in the sanctuary or watch online on Facebook or our YouTube livestream at www.youtube.com/@UnitarianBR … During Middle Hour between the two services, we’ll host TWO CELEBRATIONS IN ONE! – PARTY with an egg hunt, games, crafts and activities for all ages. POTLUCK by bringing your brunch favorites to the Fellowship Hall. Make new friends, catch up with old friends, let’s build community together! Come for one, come for both, the more community, the better!
SUNDAY MIDDLE HOUR
Classes for all ages are held 10:15-11:15 a.m. every Sunday. Children and youth can gather for UU-based lessons and activities. Adults are invited to look for these three options: Faith in Action (social justice activities), Faith in Exploration (learn about Unitarian Universalism) and Faith in Practice (discuss spiritual practices of all kinds).

Meditation Class – Blue Lotus Meditation Center offers three weekly meditation sessions. … IN PERSON: Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 5 p.m. … ON ZOOM: Wednesdays at 7 p.m. (Click the individual date entries on our site calendar for Zoom link.) Bring mats or floor pillows.

- Firepit Gathering – 6-8 p.m. – Need a social time to relax and connect with your community? We’ve got you! Join us around the firepit for gourmet s’mores, laughter and camaraderie. Drop by after work or after choir. Stay as long as you’d like.

- MIDDLE HOUR: Social Justice-Voting Subteam – Discuss voting concerns and actions that can be taken to improve voting rights. (Also: June 1)
- OWL for Grades 7-8 – 1-3 p.m. – Only registered students whose parents attended orientation may attend this class.
Thursday, May 1
- Retirement Support Group – 10 a.m. – First Thursday of the month – Most meetings are at La Madeleine on Jefferson Highway.
Saturday, May 3
- Family Outdoor Fun Day (OFFSITE) – 9:30-11:30 a.m. – Family fun in an outdoor classroom! Play and get messy with art, sand pit, outdoor play kitchen, building materials, and trails through an open meadow. Event runs rain or shine. Dress for the weather, bring bug spray/sunscreen and bring water! Families with children between ages 2-10 are likely to enjoy this outdoor play experience but all ages are welcome. LOCATION: Little Learner’s Outdoors, 14747 Terrell Rd, Baton Rouge
- Plant Sale – 10 a.m.-1 p.m. – Here we GROW again! The garden fundraiser is returning and it’s time to choose from our assortment of plants for your home and garden. Plus hand-decorated pots! Also, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday, May 4.

- Spring Blood Drive – 8 a.m.-2 p.m. – Give the gift of life by stopping by the OLOL Blood Bus in our parking lot.
- Flower Ceremony – 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. – Bring a flower to share in this uniquely Unitarian annual ritual begun in 1923 by the Reverend Norbert Capek in Prague.
- Plant Sale – 10 a.m.-2 p.m. – Here we GROW again! The garden fundraiser is returning and it’s time to choose from our assortment of plants for your home and garden. Plus hand-decorated pots!
- MIDDLE HOUR: Minister Meet & Greet – Sit down with one of our ministers for a casual get-to-know-you chat, a deep discussion on theology, or any topic you’d like!
- MIDDLE HOUR: Social Justice-Reproductive Justice Subteam – Discuss concerns about reproductive justice and what we can do to improve access for those in need. (Also: June 8)
- Gen ZUU – 1 p.m. – First Sunday of the Month – Join other Gen Z adults for lunch and fellowship. This month’s location is TBA.
- IEP Workshop for Parents – 1-2:30p – Join IEP/504 coach Megan Sheehan-Dean to walk through the different parts of the IEP and explain where and how parents/guardians can give input. This is an interactive session so bring a copy of your child’s IEP if they have one. Registration not required but encouraged at THIS LINK.
- Open Circle Book Club – 7 p.m. – First Sunday of the month – This club meets at church and on Zoom. Upcoming titles and Zoom links are shown in the individual calendar entries for each event.
Tuesday, May 6
- Black Joy Collective – 6:30 p.m. – First Tuesday of the month – A supportive gathering space for Black members of UCBR. Our discussions provide an opportunity for sharing, learning, understanding, growing and becoming. Contact ucbrblack@gmail.com.

- Community Drum Circle – 5-6:30 p.m. – Gather, Move, Make Noise! Join the monthly circle near our Peace Stones each full moon weekend.
Sunday, May 11
- MIDDLE HOUR: Social Justice-Education Subteam – Discuss concerns about local education and what can be done to create a better environment for students, teachers and families. (Also: June 22)
- Sixth Source Sharing Circle – 1-2 p.m. – Second Sunday, January to September – UU Pagans discuss their unique path. The group is dedicated to the UU principles and exploring their place in the natural world and their relationship with the gods.
Monday, May 12

Tuesday, May 13
- Congregational Care Team – 6:30 p.m. – Second Tuesday/Odd Months – The CCT meets at church and via Zoom to provide care to people in the church community who are in crisis. (Also: July 8, Sept. 9, Nov. 11)
Saturday, May 17
- Magical Spring Market – 10 a.m.-4 p.m. – Stop by the annual market hosted by Vaudeville Entertainment LLC on our campus. It is a gathering of magic makers and a showcase of spirituality. This FREE event features yoga, energy readings, workshops, food vendors, art vendors and more.
Sunday, May 25
- MIDDLE HOUR: Social Justice-Climate Action Subteam – Share concerns and work toward putting our faith into action. All perspectives about climate are welcome – whatever your level of awareness or acceptance. (Also: June 29)
